kartomi

This project involved the revitalisation of the foyer and entry of the Performing Arts Centre at Monash University’s Clayton Campus with the aim of establishing a stronger presence for the School of Music. The existing outdated and recessive main entrance will be replaced by a distinctive new canopy structure and doorway which will establish a more prominent sense of arrival, improve way-finding throughout the forecourt and improve the thermal comfort of the lobby. The project brief also called for a modern and innovative physical exhibition of the extensive Margaret Kartomi collection of south East Asian musical heritage. Construction works are due to commence in the coming months.
